  New Zealand

The New Zealand Foreign Trust is the ideal solution for clients who understand and are comfortable with the trust concept and who are not interested in the “regular” offshore jurisdictions.

New Zealand is a member of the OECD, WTO, World Bank, Asian Development Bank & the South Pacific Forum and is highly respected. It has a highly developed infrastructure, is politically and economically stable and independent. Its legal system is founded on English common law and equity. The Trust is an integral part of the legal system, and has been widely considered and reviewed by the courts. But most important: New Zealand is not regarded as a tax haven, and is not listed on any tax blacklists compiled by the OECD or FATF, nor on any blacklists compiled by tax authorities of any other jurisdiction.

Products
• New Zealand Foreign Trust

Advantages
• All foreign source income is exempt from New Zealand tax, whether it is accumulated or distributed to non-
   resident beneficiaries
• No capital gains tax or wealth tax
• An impressive array of double tax agreements
• Privacy of information. Only the name of the trust and the name and contact details of the NZ trustee
have to be disclosed. There is no filing of information on the settler or beneficiaries (unless Australian
residents are involved), no disclosure on trust property or income derived outside NZ and no requirement
to file trust financial statements with any public authority.
• Flexible trust administration. Management and investment functions can be carried out by persons other
than the NZ trustees, such as the custodian trustee and the advisory trustee. This provides for separate
trustees in clearly defined and independent roles, thereby offering statutorily endorsed flexibility to
fiduciaries, private banks and professional firms, who want to utilize NV trusts for their clients, whilst
simultaneously retaining administration of the trust.
• Asset protection & succession planning. The New Zealand bankruptcy laws and other statutes, provide
significant asset protection benefits to trustees of the NZ trust.
